I would like to know if a emergency shelter on an Indian reserve is federally or provincially regulated??
JA: Have you documented this or discussed it with HR?
Customer: No. I am in a labor dispute and another shelter whom had same sort of issue arise stated there is a difference! Would just like to know which labor standards to follow Alberta or Canada??
JA: Is the employment agreement "at will," union, full time or part time?
Customer: one full time employee one causal employee, not unionized
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: the claims are for unjust dismissal. We are a non-profit organization. employees are requesting severance pay in the thousands each.
