Im wondering if this is completely confidential? For approx.
For approx. 4 yrs i lived with a person on disability but kept my relationship private because that would risk her disability payments. Then we were involved in a car accident and she recieved injury related money from that accident she wanted to use for a downpayment for a house. But since she was collecting disability it was decided she couldnt risk jeopordizing her disabilty income in any way. So I got her a mortgage in my name and the title of the house was put in my name. I assumed being her landlord and she would use her income to pay for the major part of the mortgage while i pay the utilities and a small amount of the mortgage with my income. This would protect her income but put me in a risky situation taxwise which i detest but continue in order to have this home.We drew up one agreement that if we ended the relationship the value of the home would be split equally with her getting back the deposit used for the purchase of the home. Its now 6 yrs later and we have never missed a mortgage payent and the homes value has increased substanitally. We have a major bone of contention. As we plan staying together until old age... . If she died, her live in son, would get 50% of the homes value plus the deposit but IF i die then she would get my share with nothing going to my son as an inheritance. That makes me feel as if she is unjustly enriching herself. I dont think thats fair. She has made more substantial contributions to the homes value by paying for the installation of a deck and her son even used inheritance money to pay for a new garage. But even so, i am primarily the one who cares for the upkeep and maintenance of the property and i feel if i die then my portion should go to my son in the future after she passes or both die. Who is right here what am i not understanding? … read more
