I believe I will get terminated tomorrow. I don't know if I will get severance or not. I Have been there for 6.25 years. Under what conditions could they fire me without severance?

I am sorry to hear this. The law is that if an employer wants to dismiss an employee for cause the employer is required to provide the employee with written warnings, unless the employee`s conduct is so extraordinary that immediate dismissal is warranted.Examples that warrant immediate dismissal could be something like a theft, a serious safety issue, etc. Does that help?

I have received no written warnings for anything, ever.

I am a Manager in a large non-profit.my Director has been very absent and generally unavailable and ineffective. 4 Managers have gone to the Executive Director to complain about him. 3 have been fired. 2 were fired today.I am the 4th and the only one still standing. I can handle this if I get severance. That's why I am so concerned.
