I signed a 12 month's apartment lease contract, and I abandoned the apartment, after 4 months of living in that apartment, and left Canada. I stopped paying rent as I abandoned the apartment. Now, I am planning to come back to Canada, however, to a different province, BC. Will my abandonment of the contract cause any effect to my immigration status? (I have a study permit that ends Sep, 2017, and I might need to extend it for one more year at the time of its expiry.) The apartment was in Montreal, Quebec. When I signed the apartment lease, I paid 2 full month's rent, the first and last month in the contract, in advance, "just in case" (because i am an international, and they were afraid of that I abandon the apartment).I also stopped paying for electricity bills. Hydro-Quebec is asking me to pay $303.23, or they'll assign the amount to a collection agency. The electricity contract ended on 01 December 2015Will I have any problems entering Canada, issuing a new visa, or extending my current study permit? Even if they sued me and there is court case waiting for me? Is there a way to confirm that there is a court case against me?
