I gained Landed Immigrant Status when I landed at

Customer Question

I gained Landed Immigrant Status when I landed at Landown,Ontario in June, 1973. I lived in the Montreal area & worked at Concordia Univ. from '73 till retiring in '95. In 1997 I moved to Vermont & have lived there since. I have pension & RSP income & pay tax to CRA. I want to return to Canada to live. Question 1: is my Landed Immigrant status still valid? Quetion 2: If not can I simply apply for a new permanent residence visa as though I had never had LI status, or is there a process to reactivate my LI status?

You have lost your PR status because you failed to meet the residency requirements.

That means you have to start over an apply for PR status again.

Let me know if you need any further clarification.
