Customer Question

We live in a Strata community with a beautiful view towards the ocean. However in front of our townhouse is a large spruce tree which is obstructing our view, and which we would like to be topped or cut. Strata refuses and claims that topping would ruin the tree.
I know that one of our neighbors loves trees and does not want to have anything cut.
What can we do?

I am sorry to hear this. You can take this to the Council and state that the tree maybe important but your right to peaceful enjoyment of your home is more important and that the Council has a duty to protect that right.

You likely bought the townhouse, at least in part because of the view. They must know this.

If necessary you can threaten a lawsuit.
