I own multiple companies and each is a service company. One of my companies signs a contract with a client, is that contract transferable to another of my companies?

In general the contract is only between the parties stipulated on the contract. These are referred to as the contracting parties. However, does the contract have a right to assign clause? If so, depending on the clause you can have the right to assign the contract to your other company.
