It is likely that you will be charged with assault and that you will also be dismissed by your employer.

In terms of the police, you should remember that you are not compelled to make a statement until you have received legal advice and if you do make a statement without legal advice after you are told you may obtain advice the statement can be used against you in court.

So that is why criminal lawyers advise everyone not to make a statement before speaking to a lawyer.

If possible it would make sense to call a criminal lawyer now.

If it is not then when the police arrive tell them you want to speak to a lawyer first and they will be able to arrange for you to speak to a lawyer even on a Saturday.
