This is a Canadian question
The board of our condo put to a vote ,whether or not to buy a unit for use of the custodian
They did not get a quorum. Short by 5-6 votes. They are now going to put it up for voting again with in a week, to see if they can convince some of the abstainers to vote. They will be sending new voting ballots to all condo owners. Is this legal ?

They can try to carry out another vote. It's not as if the vote lost. It's that they didn't vote because there were not enough people there.

So the appropriate step would be to seek a quorum so that they can try in a bona fide way to get their motion to pass. If there are people opposing this then they have to make sure they come out to vote so that that the motion does not pass. There's nothing stopping you from seeking people to come to vote who are on your sideb
