I sold a trailer to a friend(I thought). I carried the financing

I sold a trailer to a friend(I thought). I carried the financing for him and now he is 5000 behind in payments. I still have to pay
The loan and the trailer is still in my name.
What can I do? I live in Alberta

How much is owing all together and what is the trailer worth?

The trailer is worth approximately 12000.
There is 5000 outstanding.
He has had the trailer for 1 year
It should have been paid out on the 16th of July this year

Then you can sue your friend in Small Claims Court.
You can send him a letter giving him a deadline to pay you in full and tell him that if he fails to comply you will commence legal proceedings.
You can then sue and self-represent. You can also ask for interest and your costs.
