Do you know where this paster is now, or where he is working? You say he's vanished? Have you looked?
You could bring a lawsuit, but I don't know how much money you'd get. He's certainly wronged you and committed a civil fraud, but your damages are hard to quantify. Also, serving him with papers won't be easy since you have literally no idea where he is.
A better idea would be to get together with some other couples and discussing a class action suit against the church for having that unqualified pastor there in the first place.
