I live in British Columbia and his daughter has been asking for some of his jewelery for her brother. Both children were estranged from us for quite some time. I wondering if I refuse them if they can challenge the will. Just to be vindictive.

We were married in Sept. of 2000.

I was the sole benifactor in the will. The value of the jewelry is approximately $ 10,000. They were not named at all in the will. I asked my husband before he mande the will if he was going to leave anything to the children and he said no. I asked him if he was sure and he said yes he was sure. He left everything to me. I was the executrix to the will. His son has not said anything to me. I have not heard from him since the funeral. The daughter however can be very vindictive and I am afraid she might decide to contest the will. When the will was made I suggested to my husband that he a codicile to the will explaining why the children were left out and I was told it wasn't neccessary.

It was the lawyer who did the will up for him that said it wasn't neccessary. I did not probate the will as everything was left to me. Everything is now in my name. The 5th wheel we have was in both our names. The vehicles are transferred into my name after he passed. He had signed the transfer papers when he was of sound mind. There is no property just his personal items. There qwas insurance money which is now gone. I paid off all debts his and mine with the ins. money.
