We are retired. My wife has a condo in Edmonton. Her son is taking care of it while we are away. Last year before we went south we arranged for the condo fees to be automatically deposited by canceled check. While we were gone we noticed that Nov and Dec check were not removed from our account and phoned to find out the problem and were told that they have changed management companies. My wife told her son and he went down and paid for the two missing months and we sent them a new cancelled check so they could make auto deposits when they have it set up. The end of Jan we noticed that there was no money coming out of our account. We called and they said they are having problems setting up auto withdrawal. We then Wrote checks for Jan, Feb, March payments and express posted them. They received these checks on March 4th. and did not deposit them. On March 28 the condo board put a caveat on our condo. The condo board fired this company and got a new company April 1st. and cashed our checks April 4th. Now they say we have to pay to remove the caveat plus $800 for the deposit required for renting out our property. All our ID's show that the condo is our home address from our licences to insurance. Is there a way to have this removed with no cost to us?
