Last year Jan 2019 we sold our home in Quebec; at the time there had never been any leaks in the basement foundation, only a small leak in one window that did not reach the floor (as disclosed). Later in Jan and Fed 2019 we learned that there was leaking in the basement with water apparent leaking likely down the wall behind the insulation. The basement was not finished, there was insulation though. Based on the e-mail we received the buyer was aware of a crack in the foundation, we did not know that, it was during their inspection. Now a year later the buyer wants us to cover the costs of the repair. As far as I am aware, this was not a hidden defect as the buyer was aware of the crack, we really did not know.
