Hi. I live in calgary, my wife has reciently pasts away and…

most everything was in both our names. a vechile which i paid for was .put in and registered in her name . no big deal. company cheques received due to final payout of a company ending structure(severence pay) are not usable or frozen because there was no will or executors .

probait keeps comming up , but i cant get deceint answers to what probait actually is or means .

the account is now overdrawn, the cheque that came in the mail is made out to the estate of (my wifes name) and has not been deposited in thebank account.i was advized be a senoir bank officer not to deposit it yet.

and what about government formalittes . do they have any say about or what happens with her estate .

absolutly no debts, and her 2012 income tax is not completed as of yet,

do i have to go to the court house for probate in order to deposit her chueque in her bank account and use the monies .as far as i no the account is not frozen or anything.

so in general the bank makes the deciztion weather it gos probate or not
