I am wondering what my rights are in a matter involving my mothers house. The property was intially owned by my grandparents on my fathers side. When they passed away my mother and father renovated the home and paid taxes and all related upkeep costs on the home for 35 years. My father passed away 6 years ago and my mother remained living there until she had a stroke this past november. while she was in the hospital someone broke in and set the home on fire. Although the fire caused a lot of damage there are still many of my parents belongings that are still salvageable. The property was to be equally divided by my fathers other siblings. There was 5 children in total three of which are deceased and two sisters remain living. My mother is now living closer to where I am (i live on the other side of canada) and my fathers sisters have hired someone to take all my mothers belongings and trash them so that the house is empty and they can prepare to sell it. Since my father has passed my mother and I are in titled to his share of the property. since his two sisters are still living i believe they each have a split of the property. one of the deceased brothers had no children and the other has three sons that are living. i believe it should be split 4 ways giving a share to each sister a share to my mother and a share to the three sons. I am not concerned about the money I am just wondering if I have any say in stopping them from hiring a realtor and moving all of my mothers belongings without my consent. Since the stroke my mother is unable to communicate and I have power of attorney on her behalf
