I signed a contract to...

I signed a contract to rent a Workshop for a year. The contact was witnessed and it was sent to the landlord. The landlord allowed us to use the workshop two weeks before the contract date began and cash the first months rent cheque and the damage deposit check,. The landlord was in possession of post-dated cheques for the full years rental. The landlord did not return the contact agreement after the beginning date and proceeded to demand we leave the premises, sating he did not think the agreement was going to work and he could get twice as much rent for the premise. We are leaving the premises.

Question: Do we have a case to bring this landlord to small claims court for breech of contract and recover the difference between what we are now paying in rent in the new location and the moving expenses?
