I am not sure why you have given me the worst possible rating as to my service. I am giving you honest information, and it is hardly my fault if the law does not support what you want to do. Please do not penalize me just for delivering bad news.

You did not actually ask originally if you could do anything about the abuse, but I am happy to address that issue.

A lawsuit would have to take place in Nova Scotia, where the abuse occurred. But there is a limitation period of one year to sue after any assault has occurred. That would not start to run until you turned 18. But you would be outside of the time frame to sue for an assault at this point.

There is an exception to that rule if the assault was a sexual assault, and in that case the

the limitation period does not begin to run until the person becomes aware of the injury or harm (such as emotional harm) arising from the sexual abuse. So if there is any mental or psychological condition arising from the abuse that prevents a person from being reasonably capable of starting a lawsuit, then the limitation period does not start to run until they are capable. So if the abuse upon you included sexual abuse, it could be possible to sue. If the abuse was physical or verbal or emotional abuse you would unfortunately be out of time to be able to sue.
