I think your facts are very compelling. It's rare for a Court to give custody to someone as young as you are but you are clearly very bright and articulate and you deeply care.
As well, the mother has you take care of your brother all the time which shows she trusts you and that you are experienced.
So I suggest you retain a family lawyer to act for you. You will be able to get legal aid to pay for this.
And you can bring an application for custody.
You can show that you have extended family to help yo and that the mother has asked this family to take the child.
You can contact the Law Society and use their Lawyer Referral Service. You will be given the name of a lawyer and can consult with the lawyer and the first half hour will be free.
