I am being harassed, almost on a daily basis, by a former girlfriend. I had an affair with her 8 years ago which lasted for close to 4 years and it was on and off so to speak. I eventually found that the relationship was not what I wanted and that it should end. I decided to reconcile with my wife. I was going to put my energies towards reconciling with my wife and family. The girlfriend attempted to derail the process of my reconciliation. She continuously called me on telephones and blocked her number. She would follow me around town. When I was out with my wife she would be seen nearby. She would drive by my office frequently. She would leave love notes in my mailbox. She would even come into my office when no one else was around and attempt to have a conversation with me. I would ask her to leave. She eventually would. I began an Application to obtain a Peace Bond on her. She retaliated one month later by doing the same on me. I felt that she simply wanted a level playing field. For months while we were waiting to go to the hearing she would contact me and state to me that if I dropped my application against her she would drop her application on me. I simply would not listen to her and would hang up. I eventually blocked her telephone number. This infuriated her. She then lodged a complaint against me to my regulatory body citing 15 allegations of professional misconduct. She had discovered that she could harm me professionally if she reported that she was a patient of mine in the past. In the Province of Ontario no health care provider can treat their girlfriend, spouse, or significant other if there is any sexual relationship even if it is consensual. There can never be a doctor-patient relationship at any time. This is described as sexual abuse. There is a zero tolerance policy. To make a long story short I plead guilty of having a sexual affair with this woman to minimize any further court costs fighting her frivolous allegations. I have had my licence revoked for 5 years as a result and I can reapply in 5 years should I choose to do so. She continues to post on her Facebook page that I plead guilty to sexual abuse and lost my licence. She posts my name. She attacks my wife for taking me back. She attacks my daughter for living in a home with a cheating father. This woman tells my daughter on her Facebook postings that I am abusing my daughter. My wife and family have forgiven me. I have been back at home now for over 2 years and we are moving forwards. My friends, family, former patients, and colleagues know the situation with the former girlfriend and know of her ongoing actions towards me and my family. What can I do to stop this woman from continually harassing me and bullying me in the media and on her Facebook page?
