My Question is as follows I live in Vancouver BC andMy Question is as follows I live in Vancouver BC and part-time overseas.My Mother has been diagnosed with dementia and is currently in hospital receiving care. She is awaiting placement in a Residential care facility or possibly her home for further assessment. She is retired and widowed of 2 years and lives with my younger brother who has a drug habit. And has been back and forth to home and rehab after nuturing his habit. He has also Elderly and Financially Abused my Mother by previously acquiring a POA which had to be revoked when we discovered his abuse. His abuse lead the family home into receivership. And my wife had to step in and make minimum interest payments to avoid immediate foreclosure of the home. The home currently has to be sold to avoid bank foreclosure.And because my Mother can no longer afford to maintain it and will need care for her Dementia. My brother who is the main reason and cause of my Mother's financial insolvency is uncooperative and unsupportive of the plan to sell my Mother's home, having violent tendencies towards me and my wife. Currently he is changing around the home rearranging things to possibly renovate and rent out my Mother's home. Part of my brother's financial abuse of my Mother was forcing her to sign a document where she took out an additional mortgage on her home of $50,000 despite him knowing her diagnosis of Dementia, some of which he used for his drug habit. We would like to have the best resolution for this situation. We would like my Mother to receive the best care living conditions and peace of mind. I am currently over seas and coming to Vancouver shortly. I now have full enduring POA for my Mother.
