The Ontario court will have authority to make an order that you have custody or access to your child.

The court will base that ruling on what is best for the child. It will not be a matter of your rights versus the father's rights. The agreement that you had previously can help, as it shows what both of you thought was best for your child at the time. But a court is not obligated to follow that if it deter,ones it is no longer best. So you will want to give the court as much detail as possible about yourself, your plan for parenting the child, the home and social environment you van provide, and how you would try to keep the father involved in the child's life. This willingness to promote the other parent's role is an important part of being the custodial parent, and the court may take a dim view of the father's actions here in cutting you out.

Even if the court does not want to change the custody, it can order a schedule for child access so that you can resume being a crucial part of your child's life.
