If you cannot get the father to sign you will need an order for sole custody and it would be preferable to have that Order to include a provision that you can travel.

Thanks...I was sort of hoping there was a short term notarised letter of some sort that would allow me to travel for short durations..ie. Weekend trips...

But that cannot be the case because you need permission from the father or a Court Order granting you sole custody.

That would be the case even if the child had your last name.

Thanks...I realise you can't provide a quick fix....seems us "single" mothers can be held liable for everything...including the cost of legal fees to gain permission to take your child out of the country. Even though there is no one to gain permission from...irony at it's finest...Thank you for your help.

Over the course of about a year and a half, I have had a colleague who made remarks with a sexual inuendo about my clothing and body. An example is he said, "This is the shortest skirt I have seen you wearing and it really shows off your legs. You should wear it more often. Then on 7 January 2020, he came into my office to wish me and a colleague in the office a happy new year. He kissed her on the lips, to which she replied startled, "Ooh! On the lips!". I immediately thought I didn't want to be kissed on the lips but before I could say or do anything, he kissed me too on the lips. Since then, I have had reoccurring nightmares of the moment and have had stress and anxiety when I see his emails. I finally gathered courrage on 20 January 2020 to tell my HR about the incident but I did not file a formal complaint, fearing I might lose my job since this particular colleague wields a lot of power where I work. On the 11 January 2021, I filed a formal complaint. I learnt also that two other colleagues filed a complaint against this same gentleman; one also involved sexual touching and harassment. The other complaint I do not know what it is about. Where I work sent me a letter saying that they have hired a lawyer and a mediator to conduct an investigation and if I wish, to talk to the mediator. Should I talk to the mediator?
