Lyn and about an estate , Executors want beneficiariesExecutors want beneficiaries to sign a 'final receipt and receipt of estate trustees' and a ' ledger/proposed distribution' form to release an interim distribution. There is still funds left to cover any other expenses, taxes lawyer fees etc while waiting for the tax clearance certificate. Lawyers cover letter for trustees says there are cheques waiting for (8) beneficiary's upon receipt of signed documents. My question is, how can a final release be signed before the estate is finished and does EVERY beneficiary need to sign BEFORE any money is distributed. We are being led to believe if you sign, you get your money....if you don't, you wait ...this seems like blackmail. The estate lawyer has stated in his cover letter that he works for the trustees only and cannot answer any questions. The release also states that if there are insufficient funds left to satisfy any liability against the estate, I agree to reimburse and indemnify the estate my proportionate share etc. I personally would like to wait until the Clearance Certificate before signing a release.BTW...the trustees are also beneficiary's and are not talking to most of the siblings (fellow beneficiary's) … read more
