Question

We, my wife, son and myself, got Canadian PR card in late 2004.
However we moved to US beginning of 2004. Our PR card has expired in 2009,
but we did not try to renew the status because we did not satisfied the
residency obligation.
My wife and son still live in US while I have move to Japan for work assignment.
Our son is applying to colleges and is accepted by McGill and Toronto.
Now we wonder if we can recover our PR status somehow or not.
We have not gave up the status formally yet.
I do not have any employment relation in Canada now.
Question 1
Are there any way for us to recover our PR status instead of apply again?
(Pay some extra money, apply any special application......?)
Question 2
If Q1 is impossible, are there any other way for us to get PR status again?
I have tried skilled worker test and the score is about 70.
Is only possibility to start from beginning?

I am sorry this happened and I know the international student fees are
exorbitant.

But there is nothing you can do to revive your PR status and yo would have to
start all over again.

status?

If you do have to start over there is no status to give up.

You can try and visit Canada if you lost your status.

Yes your son can get a student visa for sure.

But International fees are very expensive so if you did not lose your status

in other wards, if a person stays in Canada, PR card expiration does not matter,

And if you had not lost your PR status you could apply for the card at any time.
