when I do go to see a labour lawyer what information should I take with me for the first visit? What do you suggest I do to motivate the union to give me fair representation. I have spoken with them on several occations and the only direction I got from the union is to make sure I fill out the LTD forms and sent them in. The union knows the story since I have spoken to three union representatives. I have had no concrete direction from them, there fore I feel it is nessessary to find some legal representation.

I have been turned down by LTD since they believe that it is a workplace issue and not an on going medical problem. My doctor has just signed another medical note and sent to the Canada Service EI stating that I should be off for three more months. I am distraught and overwhelmed by all of this. It was not my fault for the bullying. It has caused mental as well as physical discomfort. My work is exceptional and I have never been called into question about my work ethics and have letters of high recommendation from other employers. My employer has a obligation to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees to work in. My manager is one of the bullies. It is a sensitive issue since this person is a refugee from Iran and has been in our country for 10 years. She is a new manager and is not competent at her new role. Instead of been supportive towards me, she has aligned herself with the other bullies, and she relies on their knowledge (casemanagers RN's) to help her understand her job role. Before she got her new position as manager of Community she was a Team Leader for mental health. Anyways she befriended these other individuals in community long before she took on her new role. According to these bullies, they openly mentioned that this manager would come into their office and complain about her staff and how they wanted to go to the union. I do not trust this person since she has made it perfectly clear she does not like me. She actually stated to me that there was something wrong with my personality. Unbelievable for a manager to say something like that, especially since she does not know me and that is not very objective. Anyways I am rambling and I know that you probably cannot really say much about what I am going on about at this time. Like I said it is complex and the anxiety will not go away when I rumenate about the workplace harassment.
