I have a storage shed that I am building in my back yard in Riverview New Brunswick I am building it in the back corner of my property. I did not get a permit because the I wanted to put it on the utility easement which is on my property and didn't think anyone would notice. Well guess what their is a golf coarse that in my back yard and the whole neighbourhood walks up our street, to make a long story short it's the talk of the town. The shed is 10feet by 20 feet and is higher than the 4.6 meter maximum height so I was informed by the planning commission. I've been trying to get permission from NB power However different people say different things. At first it was just as long as it's not within 10 feet of the top line which it's right about that,and it is movable then it's nothing under the line vertically plus a foot, which would force me to move it 6 or 7 feet doesn't sound like a lot but would wreck my back yard. There are people on my street with pools on the easement who have special permission, what sounds worse a pool or shed. The other problem is I think they are considering it a non-movable structure; Well my obsessive compulsive disorder is so bad that I thought of the worst case situation (which has happened) when constructing it. I actually built 8 jacks with wheels that bolt on to the steel floor of the shed (no easy job) in case somebody wanted to consider it non-movable. I belive NB power really doesn't care but giving me written permission puts them at risk, they say they want to work with me but I don't see them bending at all. I get tired of my negative nosy neighboors saying I told you so especially when one of them reported me in the first place.
