yes, my ex is living in Taiwan full-time

first when my ex took him to canada my ex said just for visit his parents later he said he changed his mind he want his parents to look after our son and he came back to taiwan, I talked to them since the first year that I want my son back with me but they ignored me and said they have right to keep my son because my ex signed paper to let them take care of him and they let his passport expire and never get a new one for him. I didn't know what to do, I know nothing about laws all these years I kept asking them that I want my son to live with me but they still ignored me

Your situation is very, very difficult.

4 years is a very long time.

For you son it's a good part of his life and he will have no memories of life not with his grandparents in Ontario.

It's not likely at all that a Court would grant you custody at this stage.
Debra Thal (username) :
If you moved to Ontario and established a life there and started to build a relationship with your son over time perhaps you would be able to have him with you more and more but for a long time and perhaps permanently this would have to be in Ontario.

but during 4years. I went to visit him once a year and I lived there at least 2 month every time I went to see him

I had a very hard time there because me and my ex-mom-in-law and I were not get on well together

but after all I supported my son more than my ex-husband, especially he remarreid and have a new baby, so he can't support our son as much as I do.

in this case would it be easier for me in the futures if we have to go to the court ?

Is it true that I need to have a job that make enough money to prove to the court that I can take care of my son ? ( if we take this to the court )

This is not going to be too much about financial issues.

Both parents have to support the child.

It's about what is best for the child in terms of where to live and with whom.
