I can't comment for the statute of limitations, but I can say that you should definitely ignore this matter. Your friend sold this house and the parts were there. He's not responsible for this hot tub part missing months after the house was sold. If they sue him in Small Claim Court, he should repeat the Truth and the plaintiff's case will probably be dismissed. Good luck!
