If you were fully aware of the obligation you were undertaking as a co-signor; are not either deemed mentally incompetent or otherwise incapable of governing your own affairs and this daughter is not directly manipulating your funds (through abuses of a Power of Attorney or something of that nature) then the situaton would not really fall into an 'elder abuse' situation.
While in non-legal terms they may be taking advantage of your good graces, in legal terms, if you knowingly and voluntarily (again, both from a legal standpoint, family pressure and pleading are not duress) co-signed on the loan and the loan was not misrepresented or you were not otherwise tricked, then you're responsible as a co-signer to ensure the payments are made.
My recommendation to you is to reach out to the Law Society and have them connect you with a local lawyer who can review the loan agreement and advise you on how best to extricate yourself from the situation so as not to require you to continue making these payments. This may well mean that the vehicle would have to be repossessed and you may be liable for whatever penalties are provided for in the note either for the condition of the vehicle on return or for early termination if the principal on the loan does not pay.
