The New Car Sales Manager (who also is the Used Car Sales Mgr at this dealership) may have been referring to pre-owned BMW's that they take as trade-ins or vehicles that they see during servicing. The appearance of "dog legs" on vehicles in general is something that was noted by both autobody shops I went to. But both shops commented that it was odd to see it develop so quickly. Note that the vehicle is dark blue/black so this is why they noticed it. Both shops were surprised that the dealership did not offer any information that would have allowed me to make an informed decision about purchasing additional 3M rock guard for the areas of the vehicle that have been affected. By the way, the autobody shop I will use to repaint the vehicle is the one reommended to me by the Dealership. This shop does a lot of work for this dealership. It will cost me $800 for painting plus $750 for the 3M plastic film. I want the dealership to pay the $800 only.
