They can sue you for the difference and once they get a Judgment then can seek to seize your assets.

Actually as they secured the debt on your property they don't even have to sue you.

There is a law which you might have heard of the deals with certain types of purchase agreements in BC but that is where you have a conditional sales agreement and you haven't said that's the case.

If this purchase was by way of this special conditional sales agreement you may be in luck.

I believe that they cannot sue you if they seize the car then.
I am not a local lawyer and this is complex.
But you may be in somewhat better shape.
Although it sounds like they do not plan on seizing the car and that's likely why.

I am now dealing with the bank, the lawyer has given it over to the bank. I offered $16,000.00 they refused, they are demanding $27,000.00 in 10 days, I don't have access to that much money, what would be my next step?

I would consult with a lawyer for $25 and see how much that lawyer would charge to try and negotiate for you.
The bank will not want to seize your assets such as the house if they don't have to.
