I just got off the phone with Alberta Learning Information Service.
This is how this works.
If you are over 22 a credit cheque will be done.
If it looks like you may not be able to get a loan you will be given the opportunity to explain why the bankruptcy happened.
If you can show that, for example, the situation was beyond your control, then you may be given a loan. They are not very strict about this the way a credit card company would be or a bank.
But, clearly if you could avoid bankruptcy it would be best.
If you want to go to school in January you must apply right now.
If you want to go to school in September then the forms will be available in June.
