In terms of your actual question, in Alberta common law spouses have to live together for three years unless they register their relationship which she would not have done.
For this reason she was not possibly in breach of the Minutes of Settlement with respect to spousal support.

It doesn`t sound like they cohabited. It sounds like they were in a relationship. It would be hard for you to prove that they did.
