I have a question on Canadian Immigration. BC. I am a PRHi I am Murali. I and currently living in the US. I have a Canadian PR expiring Mar 2023. As of now I just have 1 week of Canadian presence in the last 2 years. I see that i need to stay in Canada for 2 years in the last 5 years during renew my PR. I see a same requirement to retain my Canadian PR status as well. However, I also see that expiry of PR card does not mean expiry of PR status and I ll lose lose the status only when an adjudicator determines that I am no longer a permanent resident after an inquiry or PRTD appeal. This make be believe thata. I can enter Canada anytime before my PR expiry, say a month before my expiry (March 2023) but I cannot leave Canada until I renew my card which requires 2 years of presence in the last 5 years. b. If above is true, and If I need to travel out of country, say on 2024, I wouldn't have a valid PR card. Since I have not met my stay requirements, I ll not be able to renew my card until 2025 when I ll meet the requirement. If I apply for PRTD, my PR status will be revoked citing stay requirements not met. C. This leaves me with only option that, If I choose to enter Canada a month before the PR expiry I have to mandatoryly stay in Canada for next 2 years without stepping out of country to protect my status. Can you please confirm if my above understanding is accurate? On the other hand, will the officer at port of entry reject my entry if I enter after Mar 2021, stating the fact that with my current travel history I cannot meet the stay requirements as my PR card expires on Mar 2023. If this is true I ll need to migrate permanently to Canada at least by February 2021.Can you please help me in the regard.
