I'm not sure this is a specific UK law question, but I'll give it a try anyway. I have used this service before during a lengthy divorce case while I was living in the UK. I now live in Norway, but my ex wife still lives in the UK. The case is as follows. After I moved out of the property I shared with me ex wife and our divorce was final (May 2008), my ex cleaned out all my belongings from the house, and during this, she found either a CD or a memory stick, with a video of my girlfriend and me. No need to explain any further what the video contained. She brought her finding to her solicitor, since we at that point still was negotiating the financial deal, and was told that whatever she found had nothing to do in the financial case, and if she had a problem with it, talk to her shrink. (Have to mention that during the financial settlement case, my ex was very difficult to deal with, claiming serious mental health problems etc, but no document was given to us. Anyway, the financial was finished in Nov 2009 and I assumed finally that the case was clear and time to move on. So not the case. Last Friday, my girlfriend (no my fiance) received at her work place an envelope with an image from this video, and there is no doubt where this envelope comes from. Since she has committed in 2008 that she had something in her possession, and that the image is from the video, it can only be from one person. The other thing that makes us sure, is that my fiance lives and work in Canada, and only people in my former household (i.e. my ex) knew her identity. We both work for the same company, but in different locations. he My girlfriend are now worried about what is her next move an do we need to be on high alert for the rest of our lives So my question is: Is there a legal way (through solicitors) we can stop my ex distributing any of this content or Is this a case for the police already.
