VerifiedIf this is just for a straight divorce and there are no issues about support or pensions or anything then the woman can apply on her own for the divorce and does not need lawyer.
The husband will need to be served but as the grounds are separation of over one year he cannot do anything but ignore the documents as he cannot say there are no grounds.
The court fees will be around $700.
The woman can get a divorce kit in most provinces or can get help from various resources that helps parties who do not have lawyer.
