The way it works is that you both have to add up all assets and debts that are to be shared. Then you compare your totals and then they have to be equalized.
So, if your assets less your debts add up to $100,000 and hers add up to $50,000 then you have to pay her $25,000 so you each are at the same spot in the end.
You don't give her your tools.
