VerifiedIn order to sell your house, you will have to execute a deed to the buyer in return for payment. You'll obviously have to execute the deed to make the transaction go through.
Also, if you have a mortgage, the funds will be delivered to the lender, with any excess to you.
Thus, so long as you never sign a deed unless you're holding a check, you should not be subject to losing anything.
