VerifiedThe order you have is between you and the father.
As you just found out neither child protective services nor the police will do anything as he's too old for them to try and force to go home. As you said so yourself, he will just run away again so the various authorities/agencies will not assist you.
If the father is breaching the order that is a different matter.
Unfortunately, if he decides to live with the father it's very likely the father can come after you for support.

Is the father saying he won't return the child? Or is this coming from the child?
If it's coming from the child you cannot do anything.
If the father is saying he's keeping the child and not returning him then he's breaching the order. It doesn't sound like it from your post though.
If he is then you will need to enforce the Order through the Court. If that's the case you can self-represent or retain a lawyer. But, if your son is going to say he refuses to come home to you then there's little point in dealing with this through the Courts as the father will not be found to have breached the Order.
