The fact that she did this a few times with the same card but using different names would likely mean that no one will let this go and that she could be charged with several separate charges which is not good at all.
If this happens she should know that she has a right to a lawyer and doesn't have to make a statement but instead can say she wants a lawyer first.
She should also be told at this point that lying to the police is also illegal and considered to be very serious so she needs to tell the truth but has the right to get a lawyer before saying anything.

It's a question concerning shoplifting. No not filed I had a
No not filed I had a very uncomfortable experience a couple of days ago when I went into my local Superstore .I had some items in my cart they were very narrow they were lipsticks and could easily fall through the cart I intentionally set my phone on top of them to prevent them from doing this and prevent them from moving . I went through the self checkout and rang in my items I was finished and a person to find out after a security guard came up to me and bluntly reminded me I hadn't rung in the lipsticks ........it was obvious she had the impression I was trying to steal them .........I apologized and rang in the items she openly did not believe what I was saying and was unkind I afterwards talked to the manager and explained my situation he was kind and I left the store with no incident I was not asked my name or any information.Ive not sleep a wink worried that somehow there could be charges brought up against me as the security guard obviously believe I intended to shoplift I'm worried this security guard is going to tell people I'm a thief I'm completely mortified and full of anxiety...........No police were called .........should I be concerned for myself and potential ramifications concerning this incident........can the security guard openly slander my character? … read more
