VerifiedPensions are highly complex property and valuating them is not easy. Often expert appraisals are needed.
One of the reasons this is so complicated is that there are different types of pensions. There are different ways to valuate each of them and the whole area is quite controversial. You can have different experts providing grossly different valuations for the same pension.
I would suggest that you read the article that you can access through the link I am providing for you. The author is in Ontario but this is from an actuarial point of view and not a legal one and it's valid for your purposes:

After reading this I would suggest speaking to your lawyer for further clarification and canvassing the idea of retaining an expert to assist you in valuating your pension and your spouse's as well.
