I traded in sold my timeshare to another timeshare compnay…

We traded traded our EL Cid timeshare in with another resort called Torrenza. The new resort purchased the El cid timeshare and agreed in the purchase contract to takeover any financial payments or expenses within 90 days of the contract. Both of the resorts are in Mazatlan Mexico. The new resort never paid off the balance. The original resort has been calling and sending letters threatening to send me to a collection agency as well as report it on my credit bureau. We have told them that we have signed contracts with the other resort and even sent them copies of the contract. They have now sent us to a US collection agency and we have once again sent them a copy of the contract showing that the new company was suppose to pay off the account. We have tried countless times to get a hold of the new company and they always say that they will have to look up our contract and get back to us. We have told them that we will not pay them anything else until they uphold there contract and now they are saying they will also send us to a collection agency and credit bureau.

-The original contract states that there is a $150 transfer fee

- we live in Victoria BC

-both contracts were signed in Mexico

My largest concern is can they effect my credit bureau in canada and send it to a canadian collection agency or anything else.

- I am willing to lose all the money I have paid for both and walk away just to get rid of this nightmare.
