A neuropsychologists incompetent and irresponsibilty has affected…

I was tested at the Toronto Rehab WSIB neurology clinic during December 1905 after a head injury in November 2004. I only received the neuropsych report in January or February 2006 after much nagging by myself and my M.D.'s office

The neuropsych did not do tests relating to my complaints, disregarding the most important test results (a 12-page report on Attention), admittedly made up and lied about the diagnosis, resulting in WSIB giving me an innappropriate r"eturn to work program", wrote the same paragraphs 3 times with one word changes, changing the entire meaning of his so-called findings, gave no test results. As well as the "return to work" physical and mental stress, his whole report severely afftected me emotionally, financially, psychologically.

After my formal complaint to the College, it was obvious in his response to the College that he did not even review my file and find the omitted tests, or check his "conclusions"; he just attempted to justify his actions, decisions and his refusal to share the raw data with the counsellor I was seeing, upon his recommendation based on the nade up diagnosis. Thank goodness I had that. I don't know how I could have workesd my way through the abuse I felt by myself

The College Discipline Committee gave him several Advices, several Cautions and made him accept a peer mentor for his next 10 cases. They found their was no evidence to support his diagnosis, had not done appropriate tests, had not analyzed properly the tests he did do. The College made it plain this would stay on record in case there is a similar complaint in the future.

In a head injury case, as I'm sure you are aware, the neuropsych is the most important player. It is now 3 years down the road, and his incompetence has impacted me severely with WSIB in that they have a false diagnosis, and are not paying me. I am only able to work half days because of the concentratio/attention issue, which he ignored in his report, so WSIB doesn't have that information to go on. So I am the only one taking financial responsibility. My teacher's union is trying to help get my tests either reviewed by a competent neuropsych or new testing done.

In my view, he should be paying me for the stress, abuse and years of delay in whatever compensation I may receive.

I don't know how, but I omitted to mention that ALS/PLS symptoms began during the "return to work" period, because of the overextended time they wanted me to work, overloading my brain. I am learning that not only can head injuries cause or trigger tjhis, but also prolonged stress, which I certainly had because of the neuropsych.
