My ex and i have a 3 week old girl I am home for only a few weeks I pay support 400 a month and paid her support before she was born,she has told me I cannot see my daughter or set very strict time limits with her like only 1 hour a day,can you tell me what my rights are as a father?

Can you let me know what you mean when you say you are home for only a few weeks and also, what would you like to do with your daughter for example do you want to see her for longer or just don't want to ask or to see her alone or what? Are you thinking about now or in the future?

Have you talke about custody/access etc?

I work in saskatchewan for the fall and winter I am home from december 18th until jan 5th.I would like to be able to see her for more than 1 hour a day and be able to take her on my own every second weekend 1 weekday on the oppisite week and rotate holidays and 2 weeks in summeB.but her mother has told me at first I can only see her a couple hours a day then it was only 1 hour,and then I can't se her at all.But I really want to have things set up for when I am home In the spring.I have not spoken about custody,I spoke about a mediator,and she said if I try anything like this she will play dirty,but she has nothing to go on at all.

I have given her money the past 3 months gave her 1500 also to buy a van I give her noe 400 amonth for support,she is on welfare and she does not tell them what I am giving her is,I think she is getting away with alot and only wants money from me and nothing else.

You will need to bring an application to Court for access or perhaps joint custody with the child living with the mother and with you having set access. You should do this now. If you can't afford a lawyer you will need to do this on your own.

You can attend at the Courthouse and seek the assistance of duty counsel.

The Court will agree that it's in the best interests of your child to have both parents as important parts of her life. You will have to show that your idea is in her best interests as well. If the mother acts like she doesn't want you in the child's life this will make her look bad in Court which is good for you.
