I have a question regarding a tenant in a live and work unitHi, I have a question regarding a tenant in a live and work unit that I am renting out. my tenant is renting out a portion of my property as a space to operate salon/barbershop out of and my family use and live in the remaining portion of the property. My tenant has said that I could put his rental cheque for March and April, but it has bounced. They are insisting that I use the government commercial rental relief plan but I cannot afford it, what can be done? The tenant has told me when I asked why the cheque bounced for March and April, the tenant told me that they did not have money to give to me and stop asking about money. Can I start an eviction process or change the lock, as it is 16 days past the rental due date as per commercial rental law from what I heard even though this is a work/live unit?
