The Will will be a matter of public record. You can attend at the local Courthouse and get a copy. No one needs to know that you've seen it that way.

If the estate all goes to your daughter then the only thing you can do, assuming the money is in trust, is ask the trustee for funds for certain expenses that would be considered reasonable and appropriate. This could include expenses for university for example.

You are not personally entitled to any of the money to offset your expenses.

Had there been an order or agreement for child support when she was living with you there may have also been an order requiring the she keep life insurance that would support that order but this was not the case.

If you are the beneficiary of her life insurance then that money is yours. She would have made your daughter the beneficiary of her life insurance if that was her intention. (I am a single mother of three kids and I can assure you that as a mother I would not forget about changing the beneficiary of my life insurance.) You were made the beneficiary for a reason.

If your daughter is attending university and there is a shortage of money and she has been getting OSAP loans or grants she will no longer be eligible for this assistance so her uncle will need to understand that so you don't suffer undue hardship as a result of the inheritance.
