The Court, if it gets that far, will make its decision based on what it considers to be in the best interests of the children.

Going from every other weekend to one week off, one week on, is a big change and you will have to show that it won't be disruptive for them.

The best thing you can do is to show that much of their routines will stay the same. They can still do the same extra curricular stuff, still see their friends etc.

Also, you will need to show that you will be able to be with them as much as the other parent can be. The Court would be reluctant to change their schedule so drastically and then have them in day care or with a baby sitter for much of the time.

If the kids are indicating this is what they want that will help you a lot.
