VerifiedThere is nothing illegal about working in the US while living in Canada, from a Canadian perspective.
You have two options as a Canadian going to the US.
If you have a social security number that does NOT start with a 9, (i.e. you have a green card) then you do not need a sponsorship.
If however you do not have green card, you may still qualify for a NAFTA TN visa to the US, which you can get at the border.
