VerifiedThe email is sufficient notice if any notice at all was required. He isn't paying you so it's really a favour legally as well as practically.
If he doesn't respond send him another email when there are about 7 days to go and leave a voice mail and advise him that on a certain date you will be removing his belongings and will be putting the belongings... in the garbage, at the end of the driveway, donating them etc.
That is more than enough.
Then do what you said in the letter and be done with it.
Keep copies of the emails of course.
